21 weeks

I am currently 21 weeks. Jerrin is due June 13th. I am wearing some maternity clothes. I have a nice size baby bump. I can get away with wearing my old scrubs to work. I feel him moving around a lot. It was so cool the other night because we were talking to him before we went to bed. We were laughing and talking to him and he started moving all around.

(Steve:) the really funny part was what I was saying to Jerrin! Which I will keep to between us, you know, man talk... Now isn't Kyna just the cutest Prego you've ever seen? We're excited!

Baby Furniture

What an adventure.... I went in late October to look at furniture. I found what I wanted and made Steve go along to make sure he liked it too. We have pretty similar taste when it comes to furniture. The furniture was half off. Being Nanny's granddaughter I couldn't pass up a good deal.

I reserved the furniture. From the beginning it was an ordeal. They called me to tell me that they couldn't order the furniture but it was at 3 different stores they just didn't know how they would get it to their location. They also told me that I would have to wait 20 weeks for one piece which was fine.

I called back in November and got the same story. I called in January and spoke to the some Judy lady. She is a little high strung and she told me that they had gotten the furniture that day had someone called me. I told her no they hadn't and she was super excited because it all came together.

My Mom and Dad were coming down for the weekend to go after Christmas shopping. My Mom wanted to go and get the furniture that weekend for us.

Dad and Steve loaded the furniture into my Dad's truck. Mom and I attempted to pay for the furniture. Oh my word. It was quite an experience. Apparently I had chosen the worst mall in the metroplex to buy anything first of all. We had put a deposit on the furniture and someone changed that into a gift card. I never received a gift card. They couldn't figure out what do to with the deposit or what happened to this gift card. The managers kept running off leaving these two girls up at the front who had no idea what to do. There had to be about 40 people behind us waiting in line probably calling us names in 3-5 different languages. At one point I called Steve who was half way home with the furniture and told him he might need to bring the furniture back. I really thought I was going to kill this one lady. Guess my hormones were in overdrive. It was a good thing my mom was with me. She is so calm. Mom also saved the lady $100 because she could not subtract. An hour and a half later we paid for the furniture. I still have one more piece to pick up.

We will have a good story to tell Jerrin. His room is all clean and the furniture is assembled. I can't wait to start decorating. Seems Zoe has picked her spot already, what a good girl!

Thanksgiving and Heart Beat

We have decided to have the baby at Allen Birthing Center. We will be using a midwife named Kathleen. We went right before Thanksgiving to hear the heartbeat. The heartbeat was nice and strong. This was our second attempt. Our little one didn't want to cooperate the first time around.

We went to Duncan for Thanksgiving and made the announcement with my mom's family first. Nanny said she wanted a boy and also wanted him to come on her birthday. We later told my dad's family. It was funny becuase we couldn't get everyone together so it was sort of a segmented announcement. I called my Granny to tell her and she was very excited.

We met Steve's sister Kathy, Mike and his Mom for breakfast. We told his mom by giving her a picture frame.

I am sick.....

I spent the first 16 weeks throwing up. It didn't matter what time of day it was or if I had eaten anything or not I threw up. It wasn't fun at all. Apparently I inherited that from my Granny. She was super sick with all her children.

I am not a quiet vomiter. Steve would come in and make sure that I was still alive and bring me some water. Zoe was even concerned and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me.

Our friend Jodi made me lots of soup. She figured out that I was pregnant when I kept turning down wine.

Telling My Mom and Dad

My Mom and Dad came to visit for my birthday in October. We still were not sure when we were going to start telling. At a Mexican Resturant Steve said "I know you want to tell." If you know much about my parents and I it is really hard to keep a secret or not tell them what is going on in our lives.

We were sitting in the bar area waiting for a table. Steve leaned over and told me I could tell them if I wanted to. It was super noisy in the bar area but I decided to go ahead.

I looked over at my mom and told her that I was pregnant. She said "You are kidding." My dad didn't hear me because it was so loud. He was putting the lime in his beer.

They were super excited and we spent the rest of the evening talking about it. They can't wait to have another grandchild to spoil. Mimi and Poppa do a great job spoiling kids.

We are having a baby......

I took the first pregnacy test on a Thursday night right before Pizza and Beer Night. I took the little stick to Steve and he said "what is that?" I told him to read it. He replied it says pregnant. I said yup. He then responded are you sure. So a few days later later I took another with the same result.

A few things I remember from that time. At PNBN Rob and Scott started a conversation about pregnancy test and how you can find out 5 days sooner becuase of some comercial on tv. I just stood there not saying a word. We had decided that we were not going to tell anyone for awhile.

That weekend I went to Lisa and Bobby's baby shower in Oklahoma City. Several of my sorority sisters were there and I was asked when we were going to have a baby. I just commented I don't know.

Seems like at this time I was getting asked a lot when we were going to have a baby.
